Lonicera periclymenum Serotina honeysuckle is great, with good showy flowers, otherwise Lonicera japonica Halliana is semi-evergreen, has a long blooming season, and grows quickly. Honeysuckles do need some support to grow up a wall though. They will twist themselves around something, in order to gain support, in the wild they clumb around other plants, otherwise they remain a shorter spreading bush. Overall, your choice will be limited by your location, and I don’t know where you live. The English ivy is a fast grower, and will sucker itself to walls – however, this may cause masonry damage, and can be unsightly if you ever want to remove it, as it adheres very strongly. Passion Flowers are great, can cover large areas, but again need support. eg: http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk/climbers/… Solanum’s can grow well, and have a range of colourings, preferring some support though. eg.
