Which do you prefer, baby sling “pouch” or baby sling “strech”?

I have tried some slings and frontpacks.  I always used a frontpack with my son but then I came up with a crazy idea that has developed into the moai.  Have a look www.mymoai.co.nz.  I use it every day with my daughter.  Its a 4 in 1, a hammock that fits into your car seat and keeps it clean, a frontpack and a sling and a carrier to move your sleeping child.

I prefer a ring sling because it’s so adjustable. A pouch would be my second choice. I also use a mei tai, and I love it for my toddlers. Once they hit about 30 pounds, it was nice to use both shoulders and my hips to hold them. I would not like a stretchy wrap. I see lots of babies in them, hanging down really low. It looks like it would be hard on your back, but maybe you learn to work with it. I can’t say enough about my Maya Wrap (which is not a wrap, it’s a ring sling). The material is a sturdy, but loosely woven cotton that is cool, strong and stretches just enough. It cradles baby’s body just right.

I prefer a pouch style when I need something that is quick to get baby in and out, but for longer carrying, like a walk, a stretch wrap is good because of the extra support over two shoulders and on the lower back.
