Look at both. Which do you enjoy looking at most? There are fewer suri than huacaya alpacas in the world and in the US. Because of this, there are more buyers for huacaya than suri, so a beginning breeder would have a larger market for huacaya than suri. Suri on the other hand, command a higher price, but have fewer buyers. Whatever type of alpaca you choose, select the best quality you can afford. Five years from now, youll be glad you did, as you will have an outstanding herd.
