Which field does building surveying belong to?
Building surveying falls under the Civil Engineering field of study. Prior to start of building construction, a survey will be conducted to set out points for building gridlines as well as bench marks for reference of building elevations. A survey layout will be done to determine the exact locations of building foundations according to gridlines for the purposes of stakings. When the building construction is on progress, a constant survey still to be done to check the alignment of columns, plumbness of structures, correct elevations of each building floor levels, proper alignment of walls (for precast buildings), etc.
