Which hotel websearch service tells if the hotel rate is good for the real deal on hotel rates?
I have worked in hotels for 25 years. A good percentage of the time reservations received from 3rd party travel web sites are incorrect. Use them to give you an idea, but ALWAYS go to the hotel DIRECTLY to make your reservation. I spend a GREAT deal of time trying to make sure that ALL my hotels rates, polices, room information and more are correct and, to be very honest, most do not care. For example, we had tennis courts for 16 years. Now, we have done away with our tennis courts but added a salon/spa. I have sent the information to certain travel sites over and over and it NEVER gets corrected. Then, the guests are angry with the hotel that information is incorrect when it is not our fault. And, they either charge the guest a mark up or they charge the hotel a commission. The are just “middleman”; eleminate them and you will elimate problems with your reservation and probably get a better rate, too.
