The Palair CP Series of gear motor air hoists with pendent control have internal oilers. The purpose of this oiler is to provide air line lubrication to the gear motor where an external oiler is not practical. These rugged hoists were designed for the mines where external oilers are easily broken while dragging the hoist around. Temporary rigging for construction and shipyard work would also be suitable applications. The internal oiler provides enough lubrication to the motor for proper operation. Capacity is quite limited, though, (0.21 liters or 7 oz.) and there is no way to check the oil level except by removing a tapped plug. For these reasons, it is recommended that the use of the hoist with the internal oiler be limited to applications where it is accessible for frequent level checks and filling.
