Which is easier to learn, skiing or snowboarding?

Skiing is a lot easier, but i feel snowboarding has a better reward at the end once you have mastered the basics. Always start with a friend if you are going to start snowboarding. Snowboarding alone when you are a beginner seems very stressful and not fun.
