Which is faster RAM or flash memory and why?

0

RAM is volatile because volatile memory is faster. Plus being able to permanently store stuff in RAM isnt what its there for. RAM is a place to put temporary information that the cpu might need quickly so it doesnt have to go all the way to the slow HD to pick up information it might be needing quickly. Flash is non volatile because its purpose is to be able to store information on it. You don’t need to access and re-access this information quickly like the information that would be in RAM so speed isnt as important. If the flash was volatile you would lose all your stored information when you take it out and would basicly serve no purpose.
