Which is more valuable diamonds or gold?
I think that diamonds are more valuable. I’ve checked prices on diamonds online here http://www.pricescope.com/wiki/wholesale-diamonds and they are expensive bustards.
It really depends on what your basis of comparison is. In terms of real value gold is the clear winner. Gold has real value because there is a real market for it and that’s why gold is used as an investment. Gold has had value throughout recorded history. Gold can not be manufactured as cheaply as real gold so gold really is a scarce commodity. There is no investment value in diamonds for two reasons. One is that the price of diamonds is completely artificial because of DeBeers setting the price. Diamonds are a fairly common compound in the earths crust. They have warehouses full of diamonds that are being kept off the market to inflate the price. If the warehoused diamonds were put on the market the price would fall through the floor. Also, diamonds can be manufactured in a laboratory at a much lower cost than natural diamonds and the manufactured diamonds are a much higher quality than natural diamonds.
