Which is the best state to snow ski, New Mexico or Colorado?

Colorado. We have a huge variety of places; in New Mexico, your choice is Taos. It depends on what you’re looking for in a ski trip. If you’re looking for challenging runs, Crested Butte, CO, and Taos, NM, are both great places to go. If you’re looking for great skiing and a chic ski town to hang out in, try Breckenridge, Telluride, or Vail, all in CO. If you’re looking to stay in one central location and hit up several different mountains, Colorado is the way to go. There are 4 resorts within a short (FREE) bus ride from Breckenridge, 3 near Vail, 3 near Telluride. If you’re looking for deep powder days, try Monarch. It’s a smaller resort, but it consistently has the best snow anywhere. I meet a lot of Texans at the southern Colorado resorts like Monarch, Crested Butte, and Wolf Creek. In fact, I skiied Monarch earlier this week and the powder was FANTASTIC! You’re really not going to go wrong, you will have a blast anywhere you go!
