and the United States Naval Academy (USNA) at Annapolis, Maryland. This year the game will be held in Philadelphia. Army and Navy have been battling it out on the football field since 1890. The game used to be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving but I suppose with that being a heavily traveled day, it was changed. Now it is held the first Saturday in December and is traditionally the last game of the season for both teams. Here is my dilemma – My dad is a Navy guy and my nephew, actually two nephews are serving in the Army! I’m not sure who I should be cheering for! Some interesting and fun facts: Leading up to the games, the teams usually pull stunts on one another. When I worked at West Point in the 1980’s, the Navy guys stole Army’s prized mascot. Of course, not to be upstaged, the Army guys stole “Billy the Goat” – Navy’s prized mascot. Army’s mascot is a mule!
