Which mature blood cells contribute to the composition of bile?

Me is right Me is…..It’s red blood cells…RBC’s that get broken down. Their correct medical name is erythrocytes but on most medical forms and in conversation they are normally referred to as RBC ‘s cos it’s easier. Likewise, white blood cells are normally called WBC’s or by the name of the specific type, like Monocytes, Eosiniphils, etc. There are a few different types of white cells. Red cells last around 120 days and new ones are made in the bone marrow, so as old ones die off, new ones replace them and the level stays the same if all is working well. Macrophages, which are a type of white blood cell, ingest and break down senile red cells and the haeme part of haemoglobin is converted in the liver to various products including bilirubin, which turns the whites of your eyes yellow if you’ve got too much of it, and also makes bruises yellow. Having too much bilirubin is called jaundice and is a problem in newborn babies, who often make more bilirubin than the liver can cope with.
