Which Rabbit breed is better? Netherland Dwarf or Mini Lop?
There is quite a size difference in these 2 breeds if that makes a difference to you. Mini Lops can go up to 6.5 lbs while Netherland Dwarfs top weight is 2.5 lbs. Holland Lops are in between at 4.5 lbs top weight. I judge a lot of rabbits every year and both Netherland Dwarfs and Mini Lops are popular breeds so I see a lot of them, hundreds of each every year. The majority of animals that I handle in both breeds are calm and could be easily socialized into good pets. I have had a larger percentage of the Mini Lops be aggressive on the judging table than Dwarfs but have had unruly Dwarfs as well. The first key is to check out the parents’ dispositions since you will be getting your pet from a breeder (a very good idea BTW).
