Which registrant types fall under CIRAs new privacy policy?
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, legal representative, or an aboriginal person are all considered individual registrant types. All other legal types are considered non-individuals. A registrant that meets the Canadian Presence Requirement only through a trademark will NOT have privacy even if the trademark holder is an individual person. This is because the person is not the registrant. It is the Canadian trademark that is the registrant. If the trademark is rescinded or cancelled, that registrant loses the right to hold a .CA domain.
