Which thrift store do you feel is a good charity to give away nice second hand things?
At least one of the names on your list is NOT a good charity. In fact, Value Village is not really a charity at all. They ACT like a charity, and they IMPLY that they are a charity, but actually, they are a profit-making business. They do give some proceeds to charitable work, but they are not much of a charity. I never give to Value Village, even though they call my house all the time seeking donations. I don’t know the National Children’s League. Salvation Army is wonderful. They do all sorts of good works. As you probably know, they are actually a religion, and I find some of their beliefs (including their military structure) a little peculiar, but I cannot fault the work they do. I give to them all the time. Purple Heart has in the past had issues about spending too much of their money on salaries and expenses, and not enough on actual charity work. ( I think that Vietnam Veterans of America had similar issues, but I am not as certain about that.) I don’t know if those have been co
