Which two elements have the most similar chemical properties?

0

The atomic structure makes an element’s chemical properties. Elements are arranged in the periodic table after their atomic structure into groups. So, the elements belonging to the same group have similar properties. Al belongs to Group III. Ba belongs to Group II. Cl belongs to Group VII. S belongs to Group VI. Ni is a transitive metal belonging to secundary groups. P belongs to Group V. Only sodium and potassium belong to the same group, I. They are also in “neighbour” periods, III for Na and IV for K. That’s why makes them so similar. Both react violently with water, forming a base and hydrogen gas which self-ignites because of the huge reaction heat. Both form peroxides when left in open space (react with oxygen). The peroxides have similar formulas : Na2O2 and K2O2. Both form salts like NaCl (tabel salt). Hope this helps!
