Which types of common alcohol contain sulfites?
I dont know for sure about sulfite content in drinks, but I do know its a complex area. Many people claim to be sulfite sensitive because they have a reaction to wine, but yet happily eat dried fruit and drink fruit juice which are both typically high in sulfites. That doesnt mean they dont have a problem, it just isnt always what they think it is. If you dont have a proper diagnosis, please make sure you are tested properly, it may be something else you have a problem with. If you really have a problem with sulfites wine is the least of your problems, you cannot have fruit juice, dried fruit baked goods, lots of fish and shellfish products which all have more sulfite than wine. Wine pretty much always contains sulfites, as they are formed during fermentation. I have heard people claim that organic wines are sulfite free, this is simply not true.
