Which US state was the last to declare Christmas a legal holiday?
OK, this is tricky: Oklahoma was the last state to declare Christmas a legal holiday, in 1907, the year it became a state. Alaska and Hawaii were the last US territories to become states, but Christmas was already a legal holiday in those territories before statehood and before 1907. Oklahoma Territory had not declared it a legal holiday until it became a state. So, technically the answer is Oklahoma, although you could argue that it is Hawaii (technically) since it was the last territory to become a state. All clear as mud? (lol).
As far as I know, it was Oklahoma. The state I was born in, but then I decided to move to California, and it was the best decision in my life. I didn’t even need cross country movers because I didn’t take much with me, but it was the greatest experience to survive in a new state where you don’t know anybody.
