Which was the largest tree in the world?

0

Tallest known tree recorded is the giant sequoia tree (Sequoia sempervirens) known as General Sherman grown in California. It is a coniferous, or the evergreen. Estimate height is about 115 meters tall and about 8 meters in diameter, with biomass estimated to be around 1487cu meters, perhaps the biggest ever living organism. The estimate age of the tree is around 2300-2700 years old, meaning when Jesus was born, the tree was already 300-700 years old!!! However, the thick tropical Amazon forest in Brazil or the tropical Borneo Island are not fully explored. There could be a bigger but unrecorded tree growing in that region.
