Which wineries make good Port Wines in the Napa Valley?
Napa is not particularly known for its port. Port is not a wine; it’s a combination of wine and distilled wine (brandy). Making it is a distinct skill from making good wine. California took decades to develop its wine-making skills, and they haven’t put the same effort into port. The best ports are still considered to come from Portugal. The best-known Napa port producer is Prager, whose ports have been compared favorably to European ports. Perry Creek, Bogle, and Brutocao Cellars have all been praised for their ports as well.
