Who actually agrees to the legal drinking age in Australia, being raised to 21?

I personally believe that the drinking age should be 21. And I thought that when I was 17. As for raising the drinking age, there are two ways to do it. In 1978, Michigan raised the drinking age from 18 to 21, and did it immediately, depriving those already over 18 of the ability to drink legally. In 1986, Florida raised the drinking age from 18 to 21, but did it one-day-at-a-time over a three year period, so that no one already entitled to drink lost the ability to drink legally. Personally, I think Florida’s approach was overly cautious. There is no vested right to drink. But at least they got the age up to 21, and it is still there, which is fine with me.
