Who Are Electrolux?
Axel Wenner-Gren founded Electrolux in Sweden in 1910 after a trip to Austria, during which he first laid eyes on the vacuum. It was known as Elecktromekaniska AB initially. It actually merged with Lux AB nine years later, but the company did not adopt the new name until 1957. Electrolux was originally solely associated with the vacuum cleaner and, from 1928, that was the product that it focused on. The company cruised through the next fifty years making a small profit but did not become prolific until the 1970s when Hans Werthen took the company forward. Today, Electrolux sells around 40 million appliances throughout the world and operates in about 150 countries. The Products Electrolux manufactures and markets around seventeen different types of vacuum cleaner today, each of which fall into one of three categories: cordless vacuums, cylinder vacuums and upright vacuums.
