For everything else, there’s MasterCard.” MasterCard is the other major international electronic service provider to credit card issuers. MasterCard was created in 1966 by several banks in America as direct competition to Visa which was then the Bank of America card, it was originally branded as the Master Charge Card but this was changed to MasterCard in 1979. Again like Visa, MasterCard has its own unique logo which shows shoppers that this type of payment is accepted, this logo, two interlocking circles, has changed little from its origins. Again due to the size of the organisation MasterCard is well know for its major sponsorship deals, these include sport events such as UEFA champions league football and the senior open golf championship.
