Who are some must read African American authors?
Mary Monroe writes about the trials of middle class contemporary African-American. Some stories are about secrets between husbands and wives that later come back and take a toll on their marriage and family. Some stories talk about the trials that sisters share, the love between mothers and daughters. The stories are riveting and dramatic. I’ve just discovered Evie Rhodes and Brandon Massey. Both write mystery, some deep scary stuff that keeps you on the edge of your seat. All three write come from my publishing house Kensington Publishing. Shirley Halistock has been writing romance for years. Harlequin type stories that are short and full of romance and intimacy. Connie Brisco is a contemporary of Eric Jerome Dickey and she writes about the relationship between friends and lovers. Leslie Banks has a vampire huntress series that is pretty good as well. T. N.
