Who can I contact for advice on the required process for resolving a refusal decision from the local RPA/Defra inspector?
RPA/Defra inspectors may get involved in further enquiries where following physical inspection of the goods, it has been identified that the goods do not meet plant health or conformity standards. Goods can either fall under minor re-labelling, reprocessing or destruction processes. You will be informed of the reason for any inspection refusals and initial point of contact for any queries regarding inspection refusals should be with the PHSI/RPAI inspector who informed you of the refusal. If the RPA/Defra inspector establishes that your call relates to a PEACH Advance Notification refusal following an inspection you will be advised to contact either the RPA PEACH or Defra Plant Health Imports Helpdesks.
