0

The new Post-9/11 GI Bill applies to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001 and individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. What does the new GI Bill cover? Depending on how long you’ve served, the new GI Bill covers up to 100% of your tuition and fees, monthly housing allowance, and the cost of books and supplies. Online degrees as well as traditional degrees are covered. If you’ve served at least 36 months of military service, or if you served at least 30 days and were discharged due to a service-related disability, the new GI Bill pays for 100% of your tuition and other specified costs. If you’ve served less than 36 months, the GI Bill pays for 40% to 90% of your education costs, depending on your length of service. The amount of tuition and fees covered cannot exceed the in-state tuition at the most expensive university
