A. Many students who are eligible for Section 504/ADA services have medical conditions that have already been diagnosed. In these cases the school would request permission from the parents to obtain copies to document the Section 504 eligibility. In many cases, the student is referred for an evaluation under special education, but is found not to be eligible. That evaluation can be used for Section 504 consideration. In cases where the school conducts the evaluation, special education staff or other support staff may be involved.
