Who created James Bond and when?
James Bond was created by novelist Ian Fleming. Fleming himself was a former British naval intelligence. The name “James Bond” comes from a book that Fleming read called “Birds of the West Indies.” The author of that book was, of course, James Bond. Fleming liked that name so he decided to use it. He wrote his first short story about the character in 1952. Fleming continued to write 007 books until 1964. Although he is no longer living, Ian Fleming’s character lives on and Bond’s popularity is still growing.
