Who decides the immunization schedules and requirements?
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is a committee of 10 national experts who provide advice and guidance to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the most appropriate use of vaccines and immune globulins. ACIP meetings are held three times a year in Atlanta, GA and are open to the public. Check the CDC website for meeting dates (www.cdc.gov/od/nvpo/people.htm).
