Who determines whether a project is minor?
The minor project categories are spelled out in the respective statutes. These are also listed in Appendix C of the application form. Your application is initially reviewed in our Lansing office to determine if it is administratively complete and to determine whether it is a minor project or if it needs to be public noticed. Some of the more common minor project categories include: • Removal of headwalls, placement of new headwalls wing-walls or end sections • Public road safety improvement projects that impact 0.33 acres of wetland or less and where all practical means have been taken to minimize the impact.
