Who do you think are some great underrated guitarists?
ALEXI LAIHO Definitely just check out follow the reaper,banned from heaven and stuff hes really good he has the skills he has the speed he has the melody its just that he is a bit of a crackpot even kirk hammett said he he believed Satriani to be the best guitarist ever and laiho the prodigy he was voted by Guitar World as the Best Metal Guitarist and is in the top 50 fastest guitarist i never understood why he is so underrated maybe because hes a crackpot
Some good answers already, so i’ll try not to duplicate any, but heres some of mine: Pat Travers Dave Flett (manfred mann in the 70s) Adrien Vandenberg Alex Masi Earl Slick Todd Rundgren (in the same vein as zappa) Chris Hayes (huey lewis–honest, the guy is awesome live) Vito Bratta–White Lion…had so many good sounds, unfortunately he retired due to musical politics–thats what i heard anyway. Eric Johnson –at least mainstream, he of course is highly thought of among guitarists Paul Kossoff Jeff Loomis–at least in the mainstream Dick Wagner & Steve Hunter (alice cooper in the mid/late 70s) Danny Cedrone (bill haley & the comets)…did so many cool fills and runs and neverrrrrrrrr gets mentioned. Warren DeMartini–at least I dont think he gets enough credit. Lanny Cordola Doug Marks Sooooo anyway there are some of mine.
