Who does BT purchase its energy from and does it come from renewable sources?
BT has one of the largest ‘green electricity’ contracts in the world. In the UK, BT currently purchases 42% of its electricity from renewable sources, and 56% of its electricity from good quality combined heat and power (CHP). CHP is more efficient than separate production in power plants and boilers and therefore results in lower carbon emissions per kWh of electricity.
