Who else has subsidence problems (Texas?) and what are they doing about it?

The Harris-Galveston Subsidence District (metro Houston) has severe subsidence problems that originate from copious groundwater pumping. The Corps of Engineers Reservoir at Addicks (West Houston) subsides at approximately 27mm/year! There are a series of ordinances that attempt to moderate the subsidence through rationing the amount of groundwater takeoff, and there has been some success in decreasing the subsidence rates. However, faults still account for some subsidence, and there seems to be less coordination of subsidence monitoring and publication of benchmark epochs in Houston than in the New Orleans District.
