Who engages in altruistic acts of kindness?
I would like to believe that I value acts of kindness, even if I don’t practice the virtue as often as I should. I must admit that I have my limits when acts of kindness are concerned. I went to Church recently. I wanted to stand up and scream during the sermon. Who engages in such altruistic acts of kindness as giving half his last loaf of bread to a total stranger in need? With prices as high as they are! Who among us, having the best of intentions, starts your day hoping to treat people with kindness? I’d like to believe I do. But, before you have reached your office or destination, something, or someone has set you careening off your noble course. Maybe it was the teenagers in the back of the bus, their conversation a loud river of expletives. Perhaps it was the truck that cut in front of you and almost caused you to have an accident.
