Who founded ICI?
ICI was founded in 1975 by Nina Sundell and Susan Sollins. Nina and Susan were two resourceful women who chose to focus on what was missing in the art world at the time. They were aware that it was very difficult to see contemporary exhibitions of quality artworks in places outside of the main centers in the U.S. and developed exhibitions, organized by themselves or other curators, which would tour the country. Judith Olch Richards, who was with ICI for over 28 years, was Executive Director from 1997 – 2009. In June 2009 Kate Fowle took over as Executive Director.
