The Founder and Dean of the Islamic Online University is Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. A Jamaican-Canadian Muslim scholar based in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar for the past 36 years. He previously founded the Department of Islamic Studies in Preston University, Ajman, UAE in 2002, the Islamic Studies Academy in Doha, Qatar 2007, the Islamic Online University in 2007, the College of Da’wah (English Medium), Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan in 2008, and Preston International College in Chennai, India, 2009.
