Who Gets Hedge Fund Vote in British Elections?
Attacks on the evils of high finance have proved one of the more popular battle cries of the British election this month. But for all the talk of tighter regulations and bonus slashing, each party has offered quiet assurances to Britain’s private equity barons and hedge fund managers that they will oppose the E.U.’s tightening its grip on the industry, The Guardian reported. Tthough the promise is coming from all political camps, the hedge funds and private equity firms are likely to trust one party the most: the Conservatives. A study of party donations shows that industry leaders have awarded most of their support to the Conservative Party’s campaign, the paper said.
