Who has the job of being the President of the Senate?
The Vice President of the United States is the ex officio President of the Senate and can only vote to break a tie. By convention, however, the Vice President presides over very few Senate debates, attending only on important ceremonial occasions (such as the swearing-in of new senators) or at times when their vote may be needed to break a tie vote.
