Answer Track and Field wasn’t invented. Running has been something humans have ALWAYS done. Racing has just come like second nature, to see who can get to somewhere faster. However track and field has originated in Greece where the first ever Olympic games were held, which featured mostly or all track and field events, such as discus, shot put, and running events that are different than ones we do today. From then on, in 1896, the first ever official Olympics were held, in that featured the first ever official world record events. Noone really came a long and said this is going to be a sport just like that. It is based on Greeks and humans running for different reasons, that they made competitions and developed on them for making events like pole vault, high jump, triple jump, and running events like 1500m and 800m.
