Who is authorized to submit a suggested revision to the FAR or DFARS, and what procedures do they follow?
Any person or organization may request a revision to the FAR or DFARS by submitting a memorandum, in the format outlined in DFARS 201.201-1, to the DARS Director. Requests within the Federal Government should flow through respective command lines. Requests from industry or other non-government persons should be submitted directly to the DARS Director. Responsibility is placed on the requestor to clearly set out how the current regulations are perceived to be inadequate and the specific revisions to remedy the described situation.
