Who is Cornelia Funke, by the way?
Have you ever heard of her? She was born in Dorsten, Westphalia. Where is that? In Germany. She’s a children’s book writer, originally gaining fame only in Germany. Soon, however, her books were translated into English and her first book to be translated, The Thief Lord, was immediately entered the New York Times bestseller list. She gained inspiration to write children’s book while being a social worker. She learned what kind of stories grasped children’s attention and decided she wanted to write stories like that. First she illustrated stories, but they weren’t what she wanted to illustrate, therefore she decided to start writing. As I said, maybe Brendan Fraser likes working with the author of all these books. And it seems he might, because Cornelia and him are friends for one, and she is a very strong backbone in the production of the movies.
