Who is Credited for the design of the Porsche 356?……
Although the Volkswagen Beetle and the Porsche 356 were both designed by Ferdinand Porsche, it was not the same man. While Professor Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle, he was in an Austrian prison until 1947. His son, Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche had been the chief designer for Porsche for several years, and in 1947, Type 356 was conceived. Professor Porsche provided advice for his son, but the credit for its design goes to Ferry Porsche.
