Who Is Felicity Huffman?
Felicity Huffman or Flicka to her friends is an actress and mother, wife of W.H Macy who is famous as both a member of the Atlantic Theater Company and as the actress in Desperate Housewives. Huffman was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as a male transexual desperately hoping for a gender altering operation who finds out he has a son. Unlike most ‘Method’ Actors, Huffman uses the technique of Practical Aesthetics and its methodology of making complex things simple through forming habits. Her husband Macy came up with the technique with his friend and colleague David Mamet. Huffman was born in New York and went to the Tisch School of New York University Drama Division. Huffman has recently co-written a book called Practical Handbook for the Boyfriend with Patricia Wolff, a fellow Atlantic Theater company alum. Huffman has admitted to suffering from severe eating disorder in the past but says that with help from her husband and therapy, she has overcome them.
