Who Is “Gary” in Those 1-800-ASK-GARY Commericals?
Anyone who watches television has seen the commercials for 1-800-ASK-GARY–those where people involved in car accidents were “saved” after calling 1-800-ASK-GARY. But, who is Gary? Some personal injury attorneys know too well and have been punished by the Florida Bar Association. The 1-800-ASK-GARY commercials are produced by a Sarasota chiropractor–yes, a chiropractor–not an attorney and recently some attorneys have gotten into trouble for accepting referral from Ask Gary. In fact, a few weeks ago, the Florida Bar Association took action against at least 34 lawyers across Florida that it found accepted referrals from Ask Gary, in violation of the Bar rules. The punishment was either a $750 fee to sit through a 4-hour advertising rules lecture or a warning. The Tampa Tribune printed the names of the attorneys. The article can be found here.
