Who is NOT a candidate for LASIK laser eye surgery?
Individuals who have various corneal diseases that may result in progressive weakening of the cornea, such as keratoconus and those patients who have certain corneal surface disease, may not be appropriate candidates. Patients who demonstrate thinner corneas may not be appropriate candidates. Also patients with immune diseases or collagen vascular diseases, including lupus or severe rheumatoid arthritis, may not be appropriate candidates.
