Who is responsible for plowing snow on state highways?

0

MDOT is ultimately responsible for routine maintenance on all state highways, and these services include snowplowing, pothole filling, grass cutting, street sweeping, guardrail repair and other services. MDOT performs maintenance with direct forces (state employees) in 20 counties throughout the state, and in the balance of the state we contract with county road commissions and cities/villages to perform these services.
