Steve is a civic minded native of Anoka who has been serving our city all his life. He is chair of our Housing Redevelopment Authority (HRA), serves on the boards of the Anoka Anti-Crime Commission, Anoka Parking Advisory Commission, the Anoka Business and Landowners Association (ABLA) and the Anoka Technical College Foundation. He is the treasurer of the Harlan Thurston Foundation, a foundation that has provided low interest loans to college students for well over three decades. The Lyric Arts Theater, one of the most successful community theaters in the Twin Cities, would not be in Anoka today if it were not for Steves hard work and foresight. In a time when the national and global economies are in a virtual tailspin we need a person on city council who knows and understands business and finance.
