Teachers at the middle school level select the middle school students identified as gifted in the area of language arts to serve as judges. Our judges must be able to spend a serious day of reading and evaluating the books they are assigned to read. Student Young Author judges must be in good standing in all of their academic classes as they miss a full day of school and are expected to make up the work they miss while they are gone from class. Students who have books selected to represent their school in the Young Author Program may not serve as judges.
