Who made the glass mugs?
The first glass mugs and bottles were made by the Wheaton Glass Company in New Jersey. The shift to glass was brought about by a combination of increasing demand and lack of uniformity in pottery bottles. Only glass could be made uniform enough to run through automated filling machines. They also did not leak to the extent the pottery bottles did.
