Within Ohio State Parks, a pesticide may be applied by any employee who has been issued a Commercial Applicators License, including a Public Operators License. Pesticides may also be applied by employees who have met the requirements of a Trained Serviceman as defined in ORC 921, and by properly licensed private contractors. Employees who may have a private applicators license for their use on their own property may not use that license to apply pesticides on public lands. How do I get a License? Historically, pesticide licenses have been issued annually by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industry. The license year was from March 1 to February 28 (29) each year. For February 2003 renewals, however, the Department of Agriculture (DOA) is switching to a fall renewal, with the license year running from October 1st to September 30th each year. To facilitate this change, DOA will be renewing and issuing new licenses in 2003 for a 19-month period, ending September 30, 2
